Lyme Regis

Lyme Regis is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has been described as “the pearl of Dorset”. It is situated at the heart of the Jurassic Coast and boasts breath-taking scenery. There is plenty to discover in this picturesque harbour town, from quaint little shopping streets, galleries, the Town Mill, museum and the Aquarium.

Dinosaur Hunt

The beaches to the West of Lyme Regis form part of the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast and offer fantastic fossil hunting opportunities for history lovers. Some of the rocks on the beaches are up to 200 million years old! Visit the Dinosaurland Fossil Museum and compare your finds against their collection of 10,000 specimens at one of the best fossil displays in the South West.

Enjoy a mile of secluded beach on Charton Bay, or drive 5 minutes to Lyme Bay, a place to relax and enjoy the costal scenery. Discover the West Dorset Heritage Coast and take a trip to Chesil Beach; one of the finest barrier beaches in Europe. There’s a variety of beaches to suit everyone’s tastes.

Beer: Picturesque fishing village with high chalk cliffs, Beer beach is a beautiful family-friendly shingle beach surrounded by limestone cliffs

Seaton: Overlooking Lyme Bay and surrounded by beautiful countryside, Seaton beach is a large pebble beach stretching over a mile long. It’s an ideal spot for swimming or water sports.

Seatown Beach: Approximately half a mile from the village of Chideock is a coastal hamlet with a privately-owned, shelving shingle beach.

Branscombe: Nestling in a valley that reaches to the sea on east Devon’s Jurassic Coast, the village of Branscombe is surrounded by picturesque countryside with miles of tranquil walking through woodland, farmland and beach

Under The Sea: Stroll to the end of the historic Cobb at Lyme Regis and visit the Marine Aquarium. Hand feed the friendly mullet and learn about the local sea life, or try rock pooling and crabbing and see what small creatures you can find!
